Ginger Berry Martini

When it comes to making cocktails, my clean ingredient principles are no different. I try to keep my drinks tasty without adding in a bunch of sugar, simple syrups, etc. That's part of the reason why I was excited to try out Cascade Ice's new organic line at the BlogHer Food Conference last month.

These sparkling waters are caffeine, sugar and gluten free. use organic essences from fruit oils and extracts and come in 10 different flavor varieties! I've tried other sparkling waters, a lot in fact (because I'm addicted,) and have found Cascade Ice to have a stronger flavor. In fact, the blueberry flavor is what inspired me for this new cocktail!

I'm so obsessed with this sparkling water that I've teamed up with Cascade Ice to giveaway an entire CASE of these to one lucky follower! Head over to my Instagram for details on how to enter!

Ginger Berry Martini

Time: 5 mins
Servings: 1

1 ½ ounces vodka (distilled from potato or corn)
¼-½ in. knob of ginger, peeled & diced
¼ cup blueberries
juice of ¼ lime
Sparkling water (Cascade Ice Organic Blueberry)
  1. Muddle the blueberry, ginger and lime juice together in the bottom of cocktail shaker (or glass)
  2. Add the vodka and a couple of ice cubes into the glass. Stir or shake it.
  3. Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a martini glass. Do not just use the cocktail strainer, it won't catch enough.
  4. Top off the drink with sparkling water. Add in a few extra blueberries for some fun!

Note 1: This drink can be made virgin/non-alcoholic by omitting the vodka!
