Untitled Supper Club
With Chicago's vast culinary options, it can take a lot to set restaurants apart from one another. Maybe you grab the attention of patrons with a niche or theme. Maybe you have a very happy "happy hour." Another way is to boast a library of over 550 American whiskeys, like Untitled Supper Club has.
The seemingly unmarked entrance, resting in the heart of River North, leads down to an intimate, prohibition style supper club. Featuring burlesque shows and live music, this sultry restaurant is a hot spot you don't want to miss.
The atmosphere is matched by none other than the beautiful and mouthwatering food served up by Executive Chef Bryan Collante. Dining at Untitled with some of Chicago's finest foodies, consisted of an EIGHT course menu, with a few corresponding cocktails. My dishes varied a bit from the others so I could stick to a gluten free, paleo friendly meal. I wish I could tell you about each and every one, but I have so many feels about them that I would ramble on for five years and nobody wants that. So, I have selected a few of my favorites to let you drool over.
Let's start with the salmon en papillote. Not even taking into account the stunning presentation, this perfectly baked salmon was served with zucchini squash, roasted fennel, celery root puree, basil and scallions. All this combined to offer a seemingly sophisticated yet simple flavor profile.
Persimmons, tomatillo and pepitas accessorize this lamb shank. I say accessorize because the lamb was absolutely the start being that it was so tender I actually cut a piece of it using a spoon. A SPOON, FOLKS. If that alone doesn't make you lust for this, well... you are wrong.
I'm the first to admit that I never really jumped on the clams/oysters train. I don't know why because I have nothing against them and no particular disdain, they just never sound good to me. That being said, if I should ever eat my words, this is that point. The Clams Casino boasts herbs, white wine, lemon and BACON. I'm pro-bacon 100% of the time for the record, but even without it the flavor profile of these clams is so amazing that I would eat it without. Huge kudos to the Chef for turning this girl into a clam fan. Or at least a Clams Casino fan.
Now, just in case you haven't tortured yourself enough, have a peek at a few more of the gluten free dishes offered by Untitled!
